Ordered the special arepas. They were delicious. Service wasn't great. Seems the staff spends more time chatting with each other than serving. But they were nice when they came around. I'd go back for the food but take out to better ambience.

They put smashed up chips on my burger. Thats all i should have to say...but ill add that the green sauce is the best and the service i am receiving is GREAT! Will be back!!

Los VERDES.. This is the sort of place you stop bye to get a quick bite to eat ! I'm not quite sure why this place is called the green because it's food is tasty but NOT healthy lol. It's a nice enchilada and taco and empanadas sort of place with only 2 or 3 salad options . Lots of beef and steak options .. The BIGGEST feature that this place has going for it is location in right on university AND it's open till 3 am any day AND ITS NOT A BAR that doesn't exist anywhere APART from Los VERDES lol. I had the chicken salad and one Empenada . The salad had WAY too many croutons but the Empenada was delicious , when I checked in I received a free milkshake courtesy of yelp . The milkshake tasted good but was not blended well enough .. This place is comsi/comsa it has it's pros and it's cons but they're food is good although it could be better. My order was to go at 11 pm .

I had been at this very strip mall location hidden in back of and behind a Dunkin Donuts in October 2011, however, at that time it was a restaurant named Los Perros. Back then they served up a really great super delicious perro but the place was a dirty grimy dive of a joint with the most idiotic, inept and downright clownish wait staff I had ever encounter. So, I'm happy to say that Los Perros is now history, gone and replaced by Los Verdes which has given the place a complete updating, remodeling and cleaning up. Better yet, Los Verdes has replaced the former day counter jerks with a clean intelligent, polite, friendly and competent wait staff. The menu has also vastly improved with a really good offering of perros, hamburgers, maicitos, parrilla, quesadellas, arepas, costipapa and various grilled items consisting of steak and chicken platters. What's more, if you do your Yelp check in, you'll get a Yelp friendly 10% discount. I had their Verde Perro ($5.50) which came with mozzarella cheese, bacon, smashed potato chips, pink, pineapple and special Los Verdas sauces topped off with a hard boiled quail egg. I'm no expert on Columbian foods, can't even speak Spanish, which may be more than obvious to some reading this review, but found Los Verdes to be pretty darn good.

Awesome place! Been to los Verdes before and love that they are expanding! I used to only get the hot dogs but a coworker told me the quesadillas are amazing. I love trying new things so I did go ahead and order the quesadillas and WOW! The chicken quesadilla is amazing! I recommend it

Well service sucks. Waitress only had 3 tables that included mine. She was to busy playing on her phone between tables to refill our drinks. The kids hotdog is a half of a normal sized hotdog. They actually cut the normal sized bun and dog. I guess the cook eats the other half. I asked for my steak to be medium and it was well done. Lets just say I won't be back.

The food is good. That being said the service is horrid. I've been here a few times now and this last visit was the worst. I went in and placed a small to go order. I was told it would be 15 mins. 25 mins later I asked the cashier if she knew how much longer it would be. She did a couple things and then went into the kitchen to ask. Came back out saying they are packing it up right now. Five mins later A guy walks out of the kitchen and says it will just be five more mins. I thought they were done and packing it up? He said they just got in another cook and it shouldn't take long. By now I've been here over 30 mins waiting on two hot dogs. I asked for a refund which they said they processed. It's now three days later and I still don't have my money back. It's only $18 and not worth having to walk back in there.

The mycito de carne y pollo is a real treat. The flavor is exploding in your mouth and is quite a fun entree to eat. I also enjoyed the onion rings; the batter has a great seasoning and no slimmy onion taste.

Los vere otra vez, los verdes......Oh my was the food good and the portions large here. We thought we could eat until this place proved us wrong. They first presented us with three yummy sauces (pink, green, and pineapple) that complemented each meal perfectly. Then we had chicken quesadillas, burgers, and hotdogs which contained mozzarella cheese and smashed potato chip strips. Their colombian empanada was also outta this world. The sauce that came with it balanced the flavors perfectly. We also had a platter that consisted of corn, cheese and potato chips...and even though that may sound weird, just eat it, it's makes total sense once you try it. By the end of the event, we were definitely Los Llenos at Los Verdes. Great experience. Hope to be back soon! Oh by the way, don't forget to check-in so you can enjoy 5% off your whole meal :)

Free strawberry milkshake tasted like liquid plastic. My kids' hot dog and hamburger buns were both stale and rock solid. All of the food came out room temperature. I got the hot dog, and even with all of the included toppings, it didn't taste like anything. The fries tasted like freezer burn, along with the frozen, burned hamburger.

I've swallowed vomit that tasted better. Bread on daughter's kids meal was stale, shake tasted like nothing and far from organic or fresh, fries had freezer burn, it was just disgusting. And service was not good. I saw a woman dressed in dunkin donuts uniform walk out of donut store across street, walk into restaurant, thru kitchen door made herself food and the shake that was delivered to my table, then walked out with her bag of self made food. Husbands hot dog took 20 minutes to arrive. Although no one was waiting but us. And loud people screaming at TV for soccer game, I mean LOUD. Yep right next to my 14 month old. I had wings and cannot get the film of disgusting grease off my tongue. Yep all those signs say....please be patient as all of our food is organic and fresh. ha!

Really good Colombian junk food. They have arepa's, burgers, empanadas, shakes and so much more. The food was delicious and the waitress really nice. My hubby and I had the arepa's and they were really good with all the toppings and sauces. We will be back :)

I stopped here for lunch recently on a whim of a hot dog craving. It wasn't the greatest but it wasn't awful. I was not prepared for the insane amount of chips on my dog that made a mess of the floor below me and got all over my pants but I did enjoy the quail egg. The music is loud and too dancey for me but I know that is some peoples tastes. I will consider it again if a weird hot dog craving kicks in on my lunch hour.

My wife and I went for the First time to this place. I ordered a Hawaiian burger and she ordered a perripollo, my burger was ok, not the best, the hotdog was awful, the presentation was horrible! Should have a hot dog with chicken but not! Is just chicken with a piece of flat bread the bread was really soft and she to eat it with a fork, not mention that she left almost half of it, for a burger a hotdog and 2 drinks the bill was 25 dollars! Not worth it for the money! I will never go back again

Changed in spring 2012 from Los Perros. Menu and ambience are very similar. Prices about the same too. Open late and a better option than fast food.

Great late night food option/I'm wasted food. Be prepared to clog your arteries. They are known for their hotdogs, which are really good especially with the mayo-ketchup (salsa rosada "pink sauce"), pineapple sauce and potato sticks. However, I like to get their picada. It comes with hotdog pieces, chicarron (deep fried pork belly), quail eggs, french fries, and potatoes for less than $9. At Colombian restaurants they would charge a good $11+ for this. I also always order empanadas, which are actually pretty good lots of potato chunks. The best part is dunking your food in the sauces. I love the pink sauce and pineapple sauce. Like, I drown my stuff with them. My boyfriend is addicted to the green sauce (salsa verde). I honestly don't know what is in it, what the correct name for it, but just call it crack in a bottle. Wow, I'm hungry now. Next time you have late night hankerings (though they are open during the day too) give it a shot.

Manager won't honor 15% off discount for checking into the location. Says that it is only for dining in and not for carry out or delivery, except that is not listed on the Yelp discount page for Los Verdes and I have already contacted their corporate office. I don't so much care about 15% off an $18 bill, I care more about the fact that the manager was a pompous ass that doesn't even begin to understand the meaning of customer service. It is not your job as a manager to be condescending towards your customers, towards your guests, towards the people that are essentially supporting you and your family. This person really got under my skin, as if that money were coming out of their own pocket. You are a manager for a "fast food" establishment, not the owner. If anything I would believe that the owners would gladly welcome my check in and honor the discount as stated on yelp. The whole point behind this discount is the free advertising. My friends see where I checked in and therefore it gets more business in. Where is your common sense?! By the way.. I can see how some of the employees might not be bilingual, seeing as it is a Hispanic restaurant, but the MANAGER can't speak English? That is just silly, I'm of Nicaraguan descent, yet I mostly speak English because it is this country's first tongue. You're in Fort Lauderdale, honestly I would advise moving in a manager that is bilingual and letting the current manager transfer to a more Latin dense location. Just my 2 cents because it irks me to have to speak a language I am not fully comfortable with in order to SPEND MY MONEY eating here.

I've been a few times and services has lacked but today service was attentive and food came fast and accurate. The hot dog was delicious and burger was good but we found it slightly dry. Overall good food and fast service which has improved. They honored the yelp 15% off.

I have had the pleasure of trying Los Verdes 3 times at different Yelp! Events over the past year. My first experience with Los Verdes was a the first Burst event at the Youth Museum in Davie, Florida in 2014. The owner was there and I had the dogs and they were amazing. I experienced them again at another Yelp elite event and then most recently at Spring Break. Again there was the owner and a crew putting the dogs together with the sauce and explaining the different options. It was these experiences that finally lead me to take my girlfriend to the Fort Lauderdale location on University Drive between Commercial and Sunrise just north of 44th Street. As usually, we always read the most recent (within 3 months) Yelp! reviews. I personally put more value in the Elite reviews because they are very thorough. The consensus of this particular location is that the service is very slow. Some of the reviews state that the wait for the food is 20-40 minutes. To be honest we you it made me a bit nervous after reading those reviews to go into that location because I am a HUGE fan of these dogs and it was my girlfriend's first impression. When we walked into the place it was very busy. We first went up to the counter because we didn't see anyone hosting at the front. I was directed to sit and someone would help us. I didn't hear the part where we could have ordered take out. When I went to sit down at a table the wait staff took that table from us and moved it across the other side of the place with two other tables I would assume for a large party. The thing is there was no large party at the time. So we went to sit at another table near the front door. As we waited to be approached by anyone we watched as several of the wait staff stood around the tables for the large group and just stood there talking. I was getting anxious and nervous again because of the previous reviews of slow service. After about 5 minutes of sitting there and no one approaching us I got up and walked to the counter and asked if I could order take out. They asked me if I was ordering take out because no one had come to my table yet. That seemed to be an inappropriate and uncomfortable question to ask me so I just said I wanted to order take out. I did it because I wanted faster service. Now as I know from the Yelp! events, the hotdogs are complicated because they have different toppings and different sauces. My girlfriend didn't really understand the menu and we weren't given any explanation of how the toppings worked. We ordered the 3 mini dogs and she ordered the Arepa with cheese. We waited for these dogs and Arepas for about 10 minutes. While we waited we watched Soccer on the two big screen TVs. We didn't order any drinks. There was a discount of 15% on the Yelp app that we presented to the cashier and she honored it after speaking with her manager. The takeout food came in a brown paper bag like you would see for Chinese takeout. When we opened the bag in the car, the three mini dogs with mini buns came in three different styles. One was with potato chips as the topping, the other came with cole slaw as a topping and the third one came with onions and green peppers if I remember correctly. The sauces came separate in mini containers. We had to guess what the sauces were because they were not labeled. Overall I was disappointed with the service and the lack of explanation of what was good to order and how the dogs would be made. I guess my expectations were too high because of the outstanding service and food I received at several Yelp! events. I am not sure if a should say this but I will...it makes me wonder why I would get over the top service and an amazing food experience at a Yelp! event and it could not be recreated at the actual location. I would expect that the experience would be exactly the same. We came into the restaurant about 10pm that night and from what I understand that location is open until 5 am so we weren't coming at closing time. The place was busy, it was not empty. I would still recommend Los Verdes to my friends because I think their dogs are outstanding. I don't think I would go back to that location. Instead I think I am going to try the Weston location. I live in Delray Beach and there is no Los Verdes next to me. My experience was very much like the most recent reviews of this place in regards to service. This needs to be remedied for the sake of the reputation of this location. Remember that the speed in which these dogs were made a the different Yelp! events created my expectation for the same speed at the different locations just to be clear. I shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes for a hot dog anywhere in this world.

One late night, my boyfriend and I wanted a place to take out from that was close by. This place came up and it sounded pretty cool and green is my favorite color, so I thought "Why not?" I really wish I hadn't. It took a while placing our order (I think it was just two hotdogs and drinks) because only 1 out of the 3 people we spoke to knew any English. My boyfriend and I can communicate in Spanish well enough, so it finally went through. My boyfriend went to pick it up and I was excited for him to return with the new, exciting food. 45 minutes later... His experience was beyond ridiculous. We only live maybe 1 or 2 miles away. It legit took that long to get hotdogs? Apparently, the order was wrong when he went to pick it up. Also, there was a huge communication issue. I don't have an issue with people speaking Spanish. I frequent a lot of places in Miami where I've had to practice my Spanish with the staff and usually they are patient and understanding. Not at all here. Also, we're in Tamarac/Sunrise area, so that should warrant at least one English speaking employee there at all times. So, an hour after we ordered, we finally eat the food. Best description is grossly delicious. I got kind of sick halfway through mine and we both didn't feel well after we finished. I won't be ordering anything from here again unless I am super drunk.

Definitely not just a 3 star place, this is a g43at colombian stop for the typical hot dogs and burgers, if it wasn't so far to me..I would pretty much be here at least twice a week. Very open area inside and we went when it wasn't busy, I LOVED THE AREPA DE CHOCLO with cheese and also had the Colombian dog, it was a great size, great taste, and pretty good price..must try if you're in the area 4.25 stars!!

although it was late night, this is a great option anytime. Got (2) filled tostones (beef & chicken)...one was probably enough for me but the plantain was cooked perfectly...not too hard not too soft. Sauce was included with the to-go.

I love this place! Always amazing food! I don't mind waiting cause the food is out of this world! I love my chicharon con arepa and my hotdog that comes with crummed chips on top! Also the workers are very nice and hard working! Love this place

I'm still not sure about this place. I've been here a handful of times and there is always something that I'm not happy about. Today the servers were much better than the last time I dined in, they were quick to take out order and brought our drinks at a reasonable time (which usually never happens). So today I won't complain about that. Surprisingly, the food came out super quick compared to the other times here. The sad part was that the food tastes totally different. It seems as if the quality of the food products have changed. I mean what I had was a plain cheese quesadilla (it's pretty hard to mess up a quesadilla I would say). I was not very happy with how the food tasted. Also the pineapple sauce tastes different. I don't know if they used to make it with fresh pineapple, however, this time it tasted like it was made with canned pineapple. My friends had a chicken quesadilla and they said that the chicken tastes funky. And made a comment that from last times they had visited the chicken was grilled but not this time. This place has a lot of potential but there's always something that ruins my dining experience. Either the service sucks or the food is not that good. I think that the food was better when the service was terrible lol.

This place reminds me a lot of La Moon without the hassle of parking around Brickell and not crowded at all for the lunch hour. The location is clean and the staff is very friendly. Ordered the Yelp Dog - A Nathan's hot dog, with mozzarella cheese and bacon, coleslaw on top, drizzled with crunchy lays potato chips. The toppings were good, but the hot dog itself could have used more effort. The hot dog came out warm like it came off one of those 7-eleven rollers and thrown on a warm soft bun. Definitely recommend that this place grill the hot dog and toast the bun, then there would be a following. Also ordered the Quesadilla con Carne which was pretty much was like the Yelp Dog in quesadilla form. For a side dish, we ordered a Maicitos con Carne. This was probably the best item we ordered there, sweet creamy corn with carne asada, hard to go wrong with that. This place relies heavily on the toppings and plating a good looking dish, but they should be more concerned with the temperature of the food when it reaches the customer. All of our dishes came out warm and that was the most consistent thing about Los Verdes; warm and creamy (not sure if that's a good thing.) The three sauces on the table could have also used some variance. There was not one spicy sauce, so if your looking for hot sauce they do store the sriracha behind the counter. My favorite was mixing the green sauce with sriracha. Overall good for a cheap meal.

It is a pretty good place to go like late at night. I love there everything quesadilla, and with the three sauces just makes it better. I dont really find amything else on the menu to be mind blowing. But again if you are going for a soccer game or heading home from the club its a good place.

Dry disgusting food! They say "best food ever made" but that is a complete lie. I have ate at various places with these Colombian/Venezuelan burgers/hot dogs/arepas and this was GROSS!!!!!!! If you are drunk or sober do not come here!!! You'll get more flavor at McDonald's. We asked for our money back or at least hot dogs in exchange (my friends hot dog was decent) they told us that they could only give us one hotdog bc the arepa has too many bites. Yes it had three bites because I needed to verify with the rest of the table that the food tasted like turd. Very annoyed

When we moved to Broward we got great comfort in finding places we would go to in Miami. Funny that the Miami location was almost the exact distance from our old house as this one is from the new house. Los Verdes is fast Colombian food and the portions are pretty large. They have hot dogs, burgers, fries, maizito which is corn and cheese with potato chips and sauces and a variety of other dishes. The burgers are really large and come with a ton of toppings like lettuce, crushed chips, sauces and a hidden quail egg - which caught me by surprise and I tossed it out. The hot dogs come on a steamed bun with cheese, crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce and pink sauce. I usually take off the pineapple but the pink sauce is amazing. The location is clean and they play a good mix of music. The staff is very nice. Great for a casual, quick lunch.

I've never met a hot dog I didn't like. That being said Los Verdes has been on my radar for awhile. I went in on the last day of January to take advantage of the Order the Yelp promotion. I ordered the yelp perro, a bacon arepa, and the maicitos and took it all to go. With the yelp promotion I paid around $15 and it was A LOT of food...definitely a great value. Everything was really delicious. I thought the potato chips and sauces on top of the hot dog really made it special, though very messy to eat, and although it is a lot of sauce on top I don't think it took away from the flavor of the hot dog. The bun tasted fresh. The maicitos was also really great. I just got the original which only includes cheese their standard crushed chip/sauce topping, but I think it would be even better with meat added. My favorite part of the meal was the bacon arepa. The actual arepa was thinner and not as fluffy as arepas I've had in the past...but this just may be a different style than I'm used to. Regardless, it was delicious. There was a ton of delicious, perfectly cooked bacon with cheese and pink sauce all over. I don't think I could come here and not order this. The staff was friendly, and since my order was to go I appreciated them including lots of extra sauces, and even some extra crushed chips to add to the top of the maicitos and arepa (I think they are trying to avoid sogginess by having you add them yourself when you get home). They had a sign advertising milkshakes which sounded delicious. I am looking forward to going back. This is a seriously affordable and delicious lunch option.

Great Food. And open late. So as soon as you're out of the club come by to get your drunk food on.. Get the maicito todo. Best thing on the menu.

Been wanting to try this restaurant and finally made an effort to go for take-out. The aroma was good until we start to eat at home. Ordered "Maicitos" with all the meat chicken, beef and ham. And their famous verdolaga burger. The beef in Maicitos tasted bad and old seems a left over from don't know when. The $11 burger was so far from the pictures with their little portion of fried seems again a left over. Fries cannot be more than 10 pcs. For $20 plus tips to go. Ended in garbage. If the beef was bad surely that lose in confidence to eat the burger. I don't like to give bad reviews but felt betrayed that it does not justify our hard earned $. :(.

One question: Have you ever had pineapple sauce on a hotdog? No? Then you haven't lived. I've been a fan of Los Verdes since I lived in Miami. When I moved to Plantation I was stoked something "familiar" was somewhat close by. For me - it's all about the sauces - and on this front Los Verdes delivers. They have pink sauce (ketchup and mayo mix), a green sauce (creamy cilantro?) and pineapple. They seem to of changed the menu around a bit and I noticed that they now add bacon to their regular hot dogs. I don't remember there ever being bacon - but it's fine by me. I almost always get a hot dog (perro) and smother that thing in the pineapple sauce. This isn't your regular hotdog though, the colombian style perro has cheese, crushed potato chips, the aforementioned bacon and pink sauce. Plus a little quail egg on top (I always skip this and leave it to the side). A thing of beauty! Now, take a bite...enjoy it...take in the taste of the frank...the crunch chips...the creamy pink sauce..melty cheese...good right? Ok, now spray a healthy dose of pineapple on that thing and prepare to lose your shiz! Amazing! Another of my favorites is the Maizito. It's basically corn and melted cheese (with some spices and a sauce). Guess what I add - yep...pineapple sauce. YOLO. Another recent change is that they used to toss a bunch of potato chips on this dish as well - I didn't get any my last go around...so I'm guessing they've change it . You can also get it with any meat you'd like. The burgers are MASSIVE. Stacked with crushed chips, sauces, lettuce and a hidden quail egg in there - be careful if you don't like the surprise - my wife found it the hard way haha. They also have quesadillas, steak and other dishes served up with - yep you guessed it - potato chips and sauces! The staff has for the most part been super on point - it's actually gotten a lot better recently. My last visit the young lady was super courteous, checked in to see how everything was and smiled a lot - why don't service industry folks smile as often as they should? That makes the experience so much better! PS - Grab a grape soda! I think they are Colombian sodas and are AMAZING.

Pretty lame putting up a check-in offer you arbitrarily won't honor - claimed a spending minimum, but there was no fine print. Pretty poor marketing strategy for bringing in new customers. Pretty good strategy for getting lots of yelp complaints.

I had to stop by this place for lunch today since I haven't been here for a long time. I have been to a couple of the Yelp events that they have sponsored and always liked what they served. I got a hot dog, chicken and steak quesadilla, and the maicitios. The latter two were for my wife and son when I got home. I got a chance to try everything and I enjoyed it very much! I have to say that all of the sauces they give you are excellent, especially the pineapple one. You do have to try them all! All of the food seemed like it was made to order, so you'll have to wait a little while (it's worth it). Only one criticism of the lauderhill location. There are four TV screens right above the counter where you order, please have one or two of them display the full menu with prices. All that was showing were just a single item off the menu, where it would be more helpful for the customers to display everything, especially if you are waiting in line. If there were a few people in front of me, I would have never known there were paper menus by the cash registers until I was ready to order.

My bf and I came during the "Order the Yelp" promotion. I think otherwise, I probably would have never stumbled onto Los Verdes. Their Colombian style hot dogs reminded me a lot of La Moon restaurant. Maybe that is just the style of food? I haven't had many hot dogs like it. The Yelp dog. It's kinda an overloaded hot dog. The portion size is more hot dog than is needed for one sitting. So +1 for the value. The yelp dog was topped with mozzarella, bacon, cole slaw, and crushed potato chips. I liked the touch of cole slaw, but I do wish the hot dog had more heat to it (felt like it came out lukewarm) and that the bread was more toasty. I also wouldn't have minded a few more quail eggs on top. We also ordered the carne quesadilla and carne maicitos. The corn dish was good, but I am biased toward liking most things with the base being corn. The quesadilla was probably the first quesadilla I've had that wasn't homemade in years! And that considering, I enjoyed it. Both dishes were topped with the pink sauce... should I say topped or doused? But even with all the creamy sauce on top, we found the food to be missing a spice kick. So we asked for hot sauce and were pleasantly surprised when she presented a bottle of Sriracha. We mixed the pink sauce and sriracha and found the perfect kick to our quesadilla. Again, it would've been nicer if the quesadilla was hotter with meltier cheese. All in all Los Verdes is a good value for the food provided. It's fast food style, which is quick and convenient. Biggest downside is probably feeling very sorry for your diet after downing their food. So much cheese and creamy stuff.

Great food and OK service. The food is amazing and very Colombian, the sauces are out of this world; the best location would be the one in Miami Lakes ,but they have locations in Weston as well and they deliver FAST.

Ordered the special arepas. They were delicious. Service wasn't great. Seems the staff spends more time chatting with each other than serving. But they were nice when they came around. I'd go back for the food but take out to better ambience.
